Photo Fears

Sometimes it's really easy to decide what I want to take a photo of and share with everyone, I get something new or my barista makes my coffee pretty but most of the time I'm left searching for inspiration. I live in a small studio that everyone has seen every corner of and all of it's contents, I do the same routine almost everyday, see the same buildings. Then we can add the fact that I have an enormous fear of people watching me take a photo in public, the awkwardness is unbearable. I am slowly overcoming it, trying not to let a moment of embarrassment take away from capturing a good photo, I have let a lot of good shots go because of this.

Does anyone else share my awkwardness? Or do you venture out, unabashed, snapping all the beauty in sight?

  1. I totally share your fear. I always feel like a weirdo when I take photos in public, so I try to be as sneaky and as quick as possible. This is also why I always end up taking my outfit photos behind abandoned buildings because I know no one will be there! haha.

Ultimately, though, what does it matter if a stranger sees you taking a picture? It might be embarrassing for a moment, but then you have that picture forever, so it balances itself out in the long run :)

  4. I just posted about the same thing! I don't mind people taking photos of me, but I hate pulling my camera out in public and taking photos. Feels unjustified, but I can't shake the feeling!

  7. I can definitely relate! Took my camera around with me today but ended up using my camera phone instead because I felt sooo awkward. Need to break that fear.
