Color Play

This week was about welcoming fall to San Francisco (it's actually getting pretty breezing again over here), voting, drinking a lot of warm drinks, eating comfort food and a ton of planning for the next couple of months. Sadly, Ian and I are not going home for Thanksgiving this year, we're both really bummed out about it but I'm dedicated to making a really special Thanksgiving dinner for two. Even though it'll be a mini one, this will be my first time hosting a holiday and if you have any tips at all I would love to hear them, I'm planning on getting pretty festive. Hope you all had an awesome week! xo

  1. Love these pictures! We were going to have mini Thanksgiving dinner for us two this year (in Canada, Thanksgiving is in October) and we ended up having a few friends over who didn't have anywhere else to go for the holiday. It was special. :)

  3. I am excited to see what you come up with. I am very dependent on my family for making everything food related and I really want to get in on the action! Especially when I spend a Thanksgiving with my boyfriend alone in the future! Good luck & great photos :)

    1. Ah, I'm the same way. i hardly contribute when I do go to big family functions (so awful) so this really makes me want to step up my hosting/party planning game! Cross your fingers for me.

  4. Jen and I actually prefer when we can spend a holiday just the two of us! I know that sounds a little mean, but it's true - less stress, more joking around, more being ourselves and having the kind of celebration we enjoy and dream of. :) I am sure your mini dinner will be absolutely wonderful!!!

Also, love love love that owl!

    1. It doesn't sound mean, I know exactly how you feel! I've been getting really excited at the thought of having a small intimate holiday and just talk about what we're thankful for. Thanks for the encouragement! xo

  5. I love how everything is so colorful, but not like a mess of colorful things. I have that same stack of sticky notes! I bought a few of them because they're so cute and bright and I didn't want to run out, haha.

Good luck with your Thanksgiving! I'm terrible with planning food-related things in general - oftentimes something gets too cold or too overcooked by the time I serve the whole meal, so I don't think you'd like to take advice from me :P
