My Tattoo Collection (Part 1)

On and off the internet, what I get asked the most about are my tattoos. I originally wanted to make one big post about them but I soon realized it would be way too lengthy. So without further ado...

Part 1 My sleeve (right arm):

I never wanted a full sleeve. The russian nesting dolls were the first tattoo on my right arm and I started adding more without really thinking. I liked the placements I was choosing but didn't think about how they all looked together on my arm, I soon realized if I was going to do this I might as well do it right!

First I chose my larger pieces. The dolls are for my two little sisters, Chase (the larger one with the blue rose) and Chandler (the one with the beauty mark like the one she has in real life). They're my favorite people and I knew I wanted to get them a tattoo that was always front and center.
The owl with a halo is my second owl tattoo but it's a completely different style. I plan adding a few more owls in the future, I just feel a connection with them.
The cowboy boots, I have a huge collection of boots and these particular ones are inspired by a pair of turquoise vintage Justin's that just might be my favorite.
The Venus Flytrap is inspired by a lot of different things, I love Little Shop of Horrors and I love the weird female ties to the flytrap. The balance of the softness of the blossoms with the harsh ferocity of the flytraps, and it's just a cool plant.
The Unicorn is arguably my "silliest" tattoo. Don't get me wrong, I adore my unicorn so many people feel a connection to it. It's a hybrid of My Little Pony and the unicorn from The Last Unicorn so it always looks sort of familiar and nostalgic to people. The longer I've had this one the more I like it.
Next I chose the smaller pieces to tie the larger ones together and make my arm one cohesive piece. I already had an animal/mythical/antique theme going and I wanted to continue with that.
The two Scorpio tattoos signify my birthday. The potion bottle with the scorpio symbol and the gold scorpion made out of gems. I have no excuse for having multiple tattoos for my own birth except for pride haha.
The ladybug is a friendship tattoo with my friend Amy who has the same one on her thigh.
The pocket watch is just something pretty to fill the ditch on my arm, it reads 11:11 a special number/time to me.
My wrist tattoo matches my left wrist it's song lyrics from a band called The Unicorns. Even though I met the singer of this band and he loved the tattoos I plan on covering them up! I'm just tired of explaining them to people when they really don't mean much to me anymore. They're the only tattoos I ever plan on covering or removing and it's because the lyrics are kind of negative and I don't need a constant reminder of bad times!

*All of these tattoos (except the ladybug) were done by Jasmine Wright
Please feel free to use/share these photos but please credit and link them to me. Thanks!

  3. Love it girl. The nesting dolls are awesome! I'm kind of at the same place that you were describing-- I've got a couple pieces on my arm and I plan on getting more- I just have to figure out how to make them all cohesive.

    1. You'll do fine if you go with your gut and get pieces that you're drawn to.

  5. I love knowing the reason behind tattoos, it's really nosy, but it feels like you are really getting to know a person, you know? I love this post and really great that you felt like sharing it

    1. You can really tell a lot about a person from their tattoos and the reasons behind them, even the silly or seemingly meaningless ones!

  6. I really love the owl!! The placement is beautiful too. Owl tattoos are the best. I have one on my right arm, and im going to get another one on my left in the same place, but a completely different style.

    1. Aww, that's awesome! They really are the best, link me I would love to see yours (couldn't find any photos on your blog). People stop me on the street all the time, even little old ladies who say they hate tattoos like my big owl on my left shoulder.

  10. Your tattoos are so pretty. I love that each one has a meaning behind it. I've been wanting to get a tattoo for a while - one that's Harry Potter related, and one with a virgo symbol. I'm just not sure if I want to get them because it's for the sake of wanting them, or because it'll mean something to me... So I'm still waiting.

Can't wait to see your other tattoos!

I have tattoos on both arms (one on the right and two on the left) and I also want to add more things. I have lots of ideas, but I want it to match with the rest..so I guess it will take some more time until I have chosen something haha :)
    Cheers from Holland!
