Local Love: La Boulange

Ian surprised me at work today and took me out to lunch, it took about 3 seconds for us to decide where we wanted to go. La Boulange is a local French cafe and bakery, it's an insanly popular spot in the city but it's still a small chain local to the Bay Area. It was instant love for Ian and I when we first moved to the city and we come here as often as our wallets will allow us, it's like a little piece of Paris right in San Francisco! Seriously amazing dishes, I usually go for one of their pastries, fruit tarts, or savory dishes slathered with goat cheese along with a bowl full of coffee (adorned with latte-art) and you know I always take a box of macarons home with us. La Boulange was recently purchased by Starbucks, which really bums me out, but it might mean you'll be getting one in your town someday which is really good for you! Either way, make sure you stop by the next time you're visiting the Bay.

  3. I wish we had a lovely little French place here in Florida. Most of our French restaurants are fine dining, not a place to go for a little lunch or good coffee like in France.
