Blooming

My boyfriend's lovely mother got me Paperwhite flower bulbs for Christmas and I planted them as soon as we got back to San Francisco. I was surprised by how low maintenance they are and how fast they're growing. You're probably rolling your eyes if you have your own garden but I'm new to owning plants and this makes me so excited!
In other news, my Aloe Vera plant is in horrible shape. I can't tell if I've over or under watered it but it's brown and it's edges are dry and bending, any plant experts out there have any advice for me?!

Oh, and today is the last day to enter my giveaway with Midnight Riders!

  3. Hm.. maybe I should look into this plant. I cannot for the life of me keep anything alive.
It's a total bummer. I also never know if I under or over water :\

  4. I am not a green thumb but I am new to planting and love it too. I got a vertical herb garden as as gift (william sonoma) which is so very very exciting. I am hoping to post about this once things are a little more developed, but its all quite good fun!

  5. High-five for not killing plants! I don't know what the opposite of a green thumb is, but I have it. True story: I killed bamboo. BAMBOO. You water it once a month, and I killed it.

  6. Looks beautiful, so pretty and feminine, a nice juxtaposition against your lovely skull and antler set!

As for your aloe - I think you might be over watering it. I was actually on vacation for two weeks and didn't get any of my friends to water my plants and my aloe plant is still strong!

  9. Love the flowers. They look lovely so good work on keeping them alive. One day we'd like to have a garden, but I think my husband will probably be the better one at keeping it alive.

  10. Paperwhites are so cute but they have kind of a funny smell, don't they? Bulbs are so awesome, you can have them for a long time. I had some paper whites and an amaryllis for a long time. When they start to go you can cut them and save the bulbs to plant next winter. I wish I had saved mine but I ditched them when I moved.

    1. They do have a weird smell but it's not that strong. That's so cool that you can replant them, I will definitely do that!
