Confetti Nails

Ok real talk, I have gigantic hands. I have no idea how it happened, I'm short, I have tiny feet but my hands rival a lumberjack's. I'm exaggerating a little and it's not a real insecurity of mine (I mean I could probably be the next Ace Frehley if I wanted to) but it does mean I have to do a little more to make my hands look long and slender. I have to keep my nails a little long, shape them a little more oval but what really tortures me is how flattering, yet totally out of style, french manicures are. They make my hands looks oh so long and slender, neat and professional, and completely outdated.

So, this is my spin on a french mani, obviously if you cover something in glitter it becomes 1000% better. The silver glitter (which is Essie "set it stones") dries really fast and makes just the tips of my nails sparkle like crazy, the multi color glitter (Urban Outfitters "flaming") looks like confetti so I painted it on like a french manicure (2 coats) and then one extra coat across the middle of the nail to look like freshly tossed confetti!

  1. I just LOVE french manicures but yeah I can't remember the last time I saw someone trendy with them too. This is soo cute! I love the confetti!! It's girly and super awesome! =) I have large hands too, I used to throw the discus in high school because my palm was so big I could hold the darn thing well enough to throw it. I'll have to try this and see what it does my nails! =)

    Have a great weekend!!

    1. That's so rad! We definitely need to start a large hands club. Also every girl like us knows the Violent Femmes lyric "big hands I know you're the one" is about us!

  2. I do love a good glitter mani. At least you don't have creepy looking little boy hands like I do. My nails are never long because I crochet all the time and am super rough on them.... therefore I must spruce them up with polish. I just adore your blog... you are such a dolly bird.

  3. I love both of them! I have a polish that looks like the second called "Party of 5" by Wet n Wild, but it takes so many coats to get the sparkles concentrated like this!
Happy Friday, have a great weekend!

    1. I bit my nails for years! I think I paint them so much so I won't bite them, I also love to scratch my head and won't give that up for anything.

  7. When it doubt, glitter. It's always the answer.

My boyfriend teases me for having "old lady hands" because he says they're more wrinkly than his.
(Lumberjack hands don't sound so bad now, do they?) ;) Your nails look awesome! I doubt I'd be able to do mine as well as yours, but maybe I'll give it a try :)

  11. This is specially true if such events are in honor of youngsters,
while they are given more freedom to try out and celebrate as children do instant payday loans as another example the regulator is struggling to act against most share scams for the reason that perpetrators are certainly not authorised or based inside the uk and so are therefore outside
    its jurisdiction.
